Upcoming Baseball Betting Games

Cubs at Tigers. Here’s why this baseball betting matchup is intriguing for all gamblers. The Cubs are getting dangerously close to flirting with losing their season. I know the NL Central has quickly gone from the best division in baseball to resembling the AL Central, but if the Cubs don’t find a spark, and soon, you can bet the personnel there will turn on themselves, the media will go to town and it’ll be over. So even though we’re not halfway through the season yet, we’re in desperation mode here. Enter the Tigers, the strongest of the weak out in the AL Central. Edwin Jackson’s having a great year (6-4, 2.4 ERA in 14 starts) and will face off against 4-2 Zambrano. For a guy whose supposed to have a killer arm, he’s only got 59K’s so far this year. Hardly enough to scare up the competition, especially on the road. The Cubs might get swept by the Tigers, but they’re definitely losing this one. They’ll be too much of a dog to consider betting on, as well. Tigers -170, Cubs +150. I also wouldn’t be so quick to take the over here. I could see this being a 5-2 game or so. Something tells me if Big Z actually does turn in a gem, the offense will find a way to let him down.

Yankees at Braves: Atlanta is somehow still hanging around in the AL East, a tough division with a couple strong teams…and the Mets. After surging into first with a nice turnaround for a seemingly routine slow start to the season, the Yankees find themselves trailing the red-hot Red Sox. Point being both teams are playing decent baseball, and are both still fighting for the playoffs right now. Chien-Ming Wang will battle it out against Tommy Hanson, with the distinct statistical edge going to…do I even need to say? I won’t mention Wang’s still astronomical ERA of 13…we’ll focus on the fact that he’s still 0-5 after 9 starts. Hanson has a decent line but has only started a trio of games this year. This one might have to go to the offenses. Yanks are solid in BA at .273, good enough for fifth in the AL. The Braves are far behind at .256. Call me crazy, but I see Wang getting his first win here, and he’s going to do it in an upset, because the road team will definitely be the underdog. Braves -120, Yankees +115. Bet the Yankees here, a couple hundred bucks. The offense will bail out Wang. Take the over, too, I can see a football score going up for this one.
